New royal class cruise ship Enchanted Princess revealed

Princess Cruises has announced the name of the latest cruise liner to be added to its expanding fleet.

The Enchanted Princess is due to take to the seas in June 2020, with bookings opening in November this year.

It will weigh 143,000 tonnes and have the capacity to carry 3660 passengers. 

Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises, says the new ship will exceed all expectations.

"The name 'Enchanted Princess' is captivating and conveys the elegance and grace of our new ship, which will introduce more travellers to the pleasures and value of cruising," Ms Swartz said. 

Construction on the Enchanted Princess will take place at the Fincantieri Monfalcone shipyard in Italy.

Enchanted will join its sister royal class ships Regal Princess, Royal Princess and Majestic Princess, with Sky Princess set to enter the fleet in October next year.

A sixth royal class vessel for Princess Cruises in 2022.
