Emirates reduces Auckland-Bali service

Emirates has announced it will reduce the number of flights it carries out between Auckland and Bali from January next year.

The service launched in June and was promoted as the only year-round flight between the two destinations.

In the first month of 2019, the service will reduce from daily to four times a week. Flight EK451 will continue to operate on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

In a statement, Emirates said the decision was made after a recent review of its operations.

The airline has advised passengers with bookings on the affected flights to contact the airline, or the travel agent they've booked through

Emirates currently operates a daily non-stop flight between Auckland and Dubai.

Last year, the airline ended its daily A380 services to Dubai from Auckland via Brisbane and Melbourne and introduced a code-share agreement with Qantas across the Tasman, which means Emirates passengers fly on Qantas aircraft between Australia and New Zealand
