Air NZ announce more services to the Gold Coast after Air Asia pulls out

Air NZ its adding additional capacity to the Auckland-Gold Coast route from February next year.

Just last week AirAsia announced they were pulling out of the route on 19 February.

Air NZ will begin a new Monday return service and increase the capacity on existing flights by operating the service with its brand new A321neo aircraft. This will increase seats available by 60 percent.

The new Airbus A321neo aircraft has 214 seats, that's 46 more than the current international A320 fleet.

The first of 13 new Airbus aircraft arrived in Auckland last week and is expected to take to the air with its first plane load of passengers on 23 November between Auckland and Brisbane.
