A husband, wife and baby were forced off an American Airlines plane in Florida this week after people onboard accused them of stinking.

Yossi Adler filmed part of the confrontation with airline staff, in which he insists he showers every day and claims he's being kicked off for "religious reasons".

"We don't have odour, OK? Nobody here has odour," Mr Adler says in the video.

American Airlines released a statement insisting the family was removed after complaints about the way they smelled, rather than their being Jewish.

"The Adler family were asked to deplane last night after several passengers, along with our crew members, complained about their body odour," reads the company's statement, which NBC News published.

"The family were provided hotel accommodations and meals, and re-booked on a flight to Detroit today."

Mr Adler told media American Airlines had promised to take their luggage - including their car seat and stroller - off the plane and give it back to them, but instead flew it to Detroit, without them.

He wants the company to "own up to what really happened" and demands to know whether it was him, his wife Jennie or their 19-month-old daughter carrying the "body odour".
