A victim fooled into giving her credit card details to scammers posing online as Air New Zealand says they need to be "locked up".
Netsafe has issued a warning about the Facebook scam, which tricks people with a fake $1 return airfare promotion.
"To celebrate our anniversary we are offering two round trip tickets for only $1 to fly wherever you want with a friend," it says.
People who click through are asked if they've flown with Air NZ before and why it was chosen as their airline.
It then gives you just 10 minutes to share the post on Facebook with the caption: "Thanks #AirNewZealand!"
The website also says only 17 tickets are left.
None if this is true.
Netsafe says it has received reports from both the airline and members of the public about the scam. Their advice was to report the post to Facebook should you come across it.
A person who Newshub has spoken to said she thought the website was legitimate because it had the Air NZ logo on it.

"The link had the black Air NZ plane and the page had the Air NZ logo all over it. It really did look legitimate; I thought maybe it was something they were doing because of the Christchurch tragedy to help out New Zealanders."
The person, who asked not to be identified, said she was lucky as only a small amount of money was charged to her credit card before her son realised it was a scam and got her to stop.
"I cancelled my card straight away and am going to talk to the bank today just to make sure everything is secure."
It happened on the same day another member of her family fell victim to another internet scam.
"It's just come at a bad time because my son lost $500 on the same day buying fake Metallica tickets off Viagogo," she said.
"The people who do these scams are absolutely awful. They should be locked up."
Air NZ has been approached for comment.
