Irate passenger kicked off flight after failed handshake attempt

Video has emerged of the moment a bizarre argument broke out on a plane leaving New York as an irate passenger demanded to shake the hand of a fellow flyer.

Nikita Groz was waiting for his flight to leave Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow for New York last month when he spotted a fellow American, 15 rows in front of him.

Groz's footage captures the moment the American, dressed in a smart lilac shirt, appears to suddenly become annoyed and storms towards a couple standing in the aisle, shouting 'I'm going to shake your hand' repeatedly.

Clearly disturbed, the pair - who can be seen wearing skull caps and are believed to be Jewish - step nervously backwards from the man as another passenger out of shot tries to hold the American man back.

The video shows the irate man continuing, before the pilot steps in. Even that doesn't stop him. He then shouts 'I want to shake his hand', before calling another passenger a 'stupid son of a bitch'.

Another video, filmed later, shows the angry passenger being arrested in the airport.

"The plane was full of people coming from Israel coming to New York. Apparently, handshakes are considered a form of insult in certain Middle Eastern countries," Groz told Caters News.
