Pool with a view but how do you jump in for a swim?

An infinity pool with 360-degree views of London is planned for the top of a skyscraper, and with it taking up the entire rooftop the question is how do you get in?

The designs for the pool have been released by Compass Pools in the UK, and will be part of a hotel planned for the top floors of the tower.

The 600,000 litre pool, dubbed Infinity London, will be at the top of an-as-of-yet unnamed 220m skyscraper in London.

Access will be via rotating spiral staircase, in what one of the designers dubbed as "a little bit James Bond."

"We faced some quite major technical challenges to this building, the biggest one being how to actually get into the pool," Compass Pool’s Alex Kemsley told e-architect.co.uk.

"The solution is based on the door of a submarine, coupled with a rotating spiral staircase which rises from the pool floor when someone wants to get in or out – the absolute cutting edge of swimming pool and building design and a little bit James Bond to boot!"

The sides and bottom of the pool will be transparent making the water seem crystal clear.

Construction is expected to start next year.
