Designs for new Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport Hotel revealed

The design for a new hotel to be built at Auckland Airport has been revealed following a karakia service at the building site on Tuesday morning.

The new hotel is a joint venture between Auckland Airport and Tainui Group Holdings.

Warren & Mahoney Architects are designing the hotel to compliment the nearby Novotel Hotel, which was also built by the firm.

Jonathan Hewlett, a principal of Warren and Mahoney, claims the hotel is following global hospitality trends as guests seek personalised experiences that reflect the local culture.

"Each visit to Te Arikinui will deliver a memorable New Zealand experience... guests will encounter environments that reflect our unique culture and landscape, from sea to sky, infused in the form and fabric throughout," says Hewlett.

The announcement also revealed that Dominion Constructors has been awarded the contract to build the hotel.
