But if you want to fly the plane, guests need to fork out for an instructor, who will guide them in a 90-minute, NZ$406 flight experience.

The Superior Cockpit Room officially opened to guests on July 18 to celebrate the hotel's 15th anniversary.

"We have already received a lot of inquiries both from Japan and overseas," a spokesperson for the hotel said.
