Watch: Sneak peek of upcoming Air New Zealand safety video featuring Suits star Rick Hoffman

Wednesday night's episode of The Project has revealed an exclusive sneak peek of the highly-anticipated, rugby-themed safety video for Air New Zealand.

The star-studded safety clip features Suits actor Rick Hoffman, who plays lawyer Louis Litt in the popular show that launched the career of Meghan Markle.

Hoffman continues his role as an attorney in the upcoming video, set to be released on Thursday, 1 August. Several All Blacks, including captain Kieran Read and head coach Steve Hansen, will also be featured.

Veteran Kiwi actor Cliff Curtis, former Black Ferns captain Fiao’o Fa’amausili and members of the renowned 1987 All Blacks squad, along with former Wallabies Captain George Gregan are other familiar faces.

The love affair between the Air New Zealand and Hoffman dates back to 2017 when the actor took to Twitter praising the airline as being "by far the most accommodating" in the world, and “insisting” on being Air New Zealand’s next spokesperson.

The Suits star has been very open about his love for New Zealand in media and on social media.

"It’s incredible – the food is amazing and the people are amazing. It’s the way it should be everywhere. I eventually plan on living there – not illegally but maybe becoming a resident somehow.”

The new video will be the latest in a long series of safety videos that usually hit the headlines, but sometimes for the wrong reasons.

The airline's 'It's Kiwi Safety' video was pulled after negative feedback and accusations of not adequately communicating the safety message and was branded "cringe" by New Zealand First MP Shane Jones.

The airline front footed the negative feedback by releasing a mock job advertisement for a new head of safety videos.

The new video will play for the first time on Thursday morning.
