Contrails - the long wispy cloud trails left by aircraft travelling at massive heights - are difficult to capture on camera.

The aircraft creating these trails are usually flying at a height of more than 30,000 feet (9.1km) at more than 700km/h.

But the team at ePixel Aerospace managed to capture amazing video of rainbow-coloured contrails left by a Qatar Airways Boeing 777-200 flying one of the world's longest routes, direct between Auckland and Doha. The video was taken as the aircraft flew over Brisbane, Australia.

The team said the images are some of the most amazing images they've ever recorded.

The aircraft was flying at an altitude of 30,492 feet at a speed of 793km/h.
