Air New Zealand releases moving video tribute to its workforce and the people of Aotearoa

Air New Zealand has released a moving tribute to both its employees past and present and the population of New Zealand as the company fights for survival during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like the airline's iconic ad of the 1990s the new video is voiced by Temuera Morrison and talks about the airline going on a journey with Aotearoa.

"We've grown together as a nation, and as an airline," it begins.

"There have been some challenges, but we have faced them together - always looking forward and always with people at our heart.

"We couldn't have done it without you, Aotearoa, and we will continue that journey. Together. Kia kaha."

The video is set to the sound of Hayley Westenra singing 'Pokarekare Ana'.

Air NZ turns 80 in a matter of weeks, but any celebrations will be on hold while the coronavirus crisis continues.

The video ends with this line: "He aha te mea nui. He tangata, he tangata."
