Air NZ has again revised its domestic schedule and it's yet another reminder of the incredibly tough conditions the airline is operating in.

The airline will now be operating flights from only five New Zealand airports - Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Nelson and Dunedin. Services to all other centres are suspended, but can be arranged at short notice, Cam Wallace from Air NZ said.

"We have the ability to operate other city pairs at very short notice if we are required to move essential workers or products quickly. Absolutely no issues with available aircraft or crew resources. Please only travel if you are an essential worker," Wallace said in a tweet.

Effective from Friday, services to and from these destinations will be limited to one or two services a day.

Demand for domestic travel has dropped by 99 percent since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis.
