Air New Zealand has announced it'll operate a themed flight from Auckland to Dunedin.

Onboard, passengers can enjoy the 'World Premiere in the Air' screening of a new film by Julia Parnell entitled Six60: Till the Lights Go Out.

Customers onboard flight NZ660 (yes, even the flight number is themed) will have the chance to rub shoulders with the band, who will be travelling on the service, as well as be the first in the world to see the film.

There are both one-way and return deals available; however, while the flight to Dunedin on November 14 will be themed, the return flight will be a bit more subdued.

Air NZ's general manager of brand and marketing Jeremy O'Brien says as well as supporting New Zealand music, the flight is also a way of supporting tourism in the Dunedin region.

"As a nation we're so proud of Six60 and the phenomenal success they've achieved on the global stage, so we're really excited to be able to offer this experience for New Zealand fans," he says.

"We hope most passengers will consider staying a night or two or exploring the region further once they get there."

Tickets are available now through Air NZ's Grabaseat website.
