Air New Zealand has announced it will be operating a special flight between Wellington and Hokitika to get people to the Wildfoods Festival in March.

The Grabaseat Hokitika Wildfoods Festival Flight will depart Wellington at 10am on Saturday, March 13, with the service returning the same day at 6:25pm.

The flight will be operated by one of the airline’s 68-seat ATR aircraft.

Packages are available for sale via Air NZ’s Grabaseat website for $299, which include tickets to the festival and transfers to and from Hokitika Airport.

For those in Auckland who are keen to join in, there’s also an option to fly from Auckland and connect onto the Wellington-Hokitika Wildfoods flight.

Air NZ Chief Customer and Sales Officer Leanne Geraghty says the Hokitika Wildfoods Festival is one of the biggest events on the West Coast calendar.

"We’re proud to get behind this iconic event which is unique to the West Coast. Events like the Wildfoods Festival give Kiwis a great reason to travel domestically and support our regions. By operating this special flight between Wellington and Hokitika we can help get even more people to the event and experience the West Coast," Geraghty said.
