Concerns over New South Wales COVID outbreak spreading out of the state have increased after news that a new positive COVID case is a flight attendant who works on regional flights in Queensland.

A tweet from ABC Television’s Queensland reporter, Michael Rennie said the case would be confirmed later today.

"A positive COVID case to be announced in QLD today is a flight attendant who travelled to and from Longreach earlier this month," the tweet said.

According to Rennie, passengers who flew between Brisbane and Longreach on QantasLink flights QF 2534 and QF 2535 on Sunday July 11 have been notified.

The case is yet to be confirmed by the Queensland state government.

The case comes as speculation rises that the New Zealand government will announce a hold on all Australian travel later today.
