Air New Zealand has joined in with a meme which mocks cliches in social media posts about visiting Queenstown.

The ever popular Instagram account nzlockdownmemes posted an image titled 'The same Queenstown trip we've all seen a million times starter pack', featuring scenery and items often seen in social media posts from people visiting the southern tourist hotspot.

The image includes a rental car, the shotover jet, Onsen & Glacier Hot Pools, Fergburger and 'that Wanaka tree'.

Air NZ's Instagram account quickly replied adding something else to the most grammed Queenstown list.

"Ummm you're forgetting the mandatory wingshots," the airline said.

"Wingshots and 7am vino in Koru Lounge flex will be in part two don't you worry," nzlockdownmemes replied.

They're not wrong. A quick look at the most recent and the most popular posts using the hashtag #Queenstown reveals just how many posts there are of window shots of wings while arriving or departing in Queenstown. There's at least five on Air NZ's account alone.

The original meme was pretty accurate also, with both the hot pools and the Wanaka tree also frequently appearing in the list of most popular posts.
