Santa's magical powers appear to have allowed him to skip MIQ and take his place on top of Auckland's Ponsonby Central.
The annual addition to Ponsonby Road is becoming iconic with Santa appearing in a different outfit each year.
In 2021, Santa appears to have been double jabbed and is complying with mask wearing mandates. He also appears to have put on a bit of lockdown weight too, like many of us.
"With a celebration bottle in one hand and oversized ceremonial scissors in the other, he is getting ready to unwrap the gift of new eateries, restaurants, a boutique movie theatre and office spaces that are set to open at Ponsonby Central in early 2022," a spokesperson for Ponsonby Santa said in a statement.
