It's one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time and now fans of Home Alone can pay to stay inside the iconic house they may already know intricately from the film.
In what could be the ultimate family getaway home, or perhaps the best place for those who want to escape and make their family disappear for a while, the McCallister family's Chicago home is available to book for the first time ever on Airbnb.
The accommodation website is advertising a deal it's partnered with Disney Plus on to promote the release of new film Home Sweet Home Alone. It offers guests a trip down memory lane and what would likely be an unforgettable way to celebrate the holiday season.
During their stay, customers would be offered:
A cozy holiday scene with twinkling lights and a well trimmed tree in celebration of the season.
Booby traps galore, but don't worry: Guests would be setting them, not sidestepping them.
Plenty of aftershave and ample opportunity to scream into the mirror.
Dinner will be a selection of Kevin McCallister's all-time favourite meals, including plenty of Chicago's finest pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwavable Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
For an extra buzz, there's also a meet and greet with a real-life tarantula.
The special one-night stay at the McCallister residence for up to four guests will take place on December 12 and cost around US$25, or NZ$36.45. So at just under $40, you can keep the change... ya filthy animal.
The house is located on Lincoln Avenue, in Winnetka, north of Chicago. Sadly, Google Street view has had this property blurred out for some time; perhaps for the best if the Wet Bandits are still around.
The house has also recently been released as a limited-edition Lego set.
