Nelson Airport is back up and running after it was evacuated due to an email police said was of a "concerning nature".
In a statement on Sunday morning, police said they are trying to find the origin of the email and have yet to establish any actual threat.
"The airport terminal has been evacuated as a safety precaution."
Police said earlier this morning the public should stay away from the airport until the incident was resolved. However in an update shortly after 10:30am, police confirmed the airport has been cleared and is resuming normal operations.
"Both the airport and planes there have been cleared and police are confident there is no ongoing threat.
"Enquiries are continuing into the source of the email."
