Foodies and wine enthusiasts eager to venture to Waiheke Island to visit the Man O' War vineyard now have a direct option courtesy of Explore Group's latest addition to its premium cruise fleet.

Situated at the eastern end of the island, the winery has gained popularity as the sole waterfront tasting venue on Waiheke and what is said to be New Zealand's only beachfront tasting experience.

Unlike other Auckland-Waiheke Island ferry services such as those offered by Fullers360 and SeaLink, the newly announced Explore Group service docks right at Man O' War Bay, just steps away from the beachfront cellar door and vineyard restaurant.

The 90-minute sailing traverses the picturesque islands of the Hauraki Gulf and serves Man O' War's Pinque Rose to passengers onboard.

"Man O' War is a Waiheke treasure and we wanted to be able to provide a service to as many people as possible so they can enjoy Waiheke Island and the Man O' War experience," said William Goodfellow, Explore Group's managing director.

"This is an exciting new offering to our unique experiences on the Hauraki Gulf. We love showing people around and surprising them with how much there is to see and do in Auckland."

Paul Franich, Man O' War Vineyards' GM of sales and hospitality, added: "We offer something for everyone with private tastings, our restaurant experience, or for those in more of a picnic mood, a spot on our expansive lawn to relax and enjoy panoramic views of Man O' War Bay. We're always excited to share this special place with visitors and soon there will be even more ways to explore the property."

The cost of a return trip on the Man O' War Ferry Service is $95 per adult and $50 per child. Potential customers are encouraged to arrange bookings at the vineyard itself separately and in advance.
