Wildfires cause chaos on Californian highway

Wildfires have swept across a traffic-clogged highway in California, torching vehicles and sending people running for their lives.

At least 20 cars were destroyed while others were left abandoned in the blaze.

A rare summer storm allowed firefighters to contain 75 percent of the fire, allowing the highway to reopen.

California is in the midst of a severe drought.
