After years of hanging out informally on campus, a cat has been made an official member of the student body at a high school in San Jose, California.

The orange and white feline, whose name is Bubba, lives nearby but prefers to spend his time wandering around the school and fratenising with students.

He has become so popular at his stomping ground in and around Leland High School that he now has his own Facebook page and students are calling for him to be included in the 2017 graduation.

His official school-issued student ID even ensures administrators and hall monitors know he belongs.
