Sydney fishermen solve whale of a problem

A whale swimming off the coast of Australia has approached a group of fishermen in a desperate bid for help.

Michael Riggio and Ivan Ishkenderian were in their boat in Middle Harbour, Sydney, when the aquatic giant, thought to be a southern right whale, swum up to them.

The whale had some plastic bags and fishing line around its head and apparently came to the fishermen hoping they would remove it, popping its head out of the water a number of times until Mr Ishkenderian managed to reach out and pull the rubbish free.

Once the rubbish was removed, the whale flapped its fin and swam off.
