A beagle in Japan has broken its own world record for the number of balls caught by a dog with its paws.

The feat, recorded in the latest Guinness Book of World Records, saw nine-year-old Purin catch 14 small soccer balls in a minute – up from her 11 last year.

Purin played goalkeeper in a park in front of a child-sized soccer goal, where the small balls were tossed her way.

Standing up on her hind legs, Purin uses her full concentration to catch them with her front paws.

Purin's owner Makoto Kumagai had nothing but praise for the pet she's had since it was born, Sky News reports.

"Purin is calm, happy and always eager to play. She's scared when around larger dogs, but since she lives with a cat, is more comfortable with animals her own size," he says.
