Iraq: A Kiwi soldier's tale

A Kiwi soldier tells of life in Iraq, describing his role as helping the Iraqi troops "take the fight to the enemy".

The soldier also admits that life in the desert at Camp Taji is "no health club" and believes the 102 Kiwis there are making a difference. He says he has no fear of a "green on blue" insider attack from the Iraqi soldiers.

He brings his "A-Game" to training because he knows the trainees are being sent out to fight Islamic State.

The soldier, who cannot be identified under Defence Force orders, spoke to Patrick Gower at Camp Taji during the Prime Minister's recent visit.
