If you're ever in Austin, Texas, chicken bingo is one thing to tick off your bucket list.

Texans have been lining up to play for more than 20 years – every Sunday from 4pm until 8pm – at the Little Longhorn Saloon.

It's three rounds of bingo in 34degC heat, and it's where the chickens poop that count – any of the numbered squares, even a line.

"All of the money goes to the winner, none of it goes to the house, so it's technically not bingo," says host Terry Gaona. "It's just chicken s*** Sunday… they eat, they poop."

When 3 News attended the event, Melanie Leonard won $114.

"We had no idea what we were doing," she says. "It was my first time."
