The shock of the November 13 Paris terror attacks is yet to wear off, but a small gesture between Russia and France is making the horror ever so slightly more bearable.

Six days after the massacre which left 130 dead and dozens injured, news broke regarding the death of a police dog named Diesel that was killed during a police raid targeting the surviving offenders.

As news spread of the K9's death, social media caught wind of the news and 'Je Suis Chien' began trending worldwide.

Now in an act of kindness, the Russian government has donated a puppy to France as a gesture of solidarity between the two nations.

Mashable.com reports the German Shepard puppy is named Dobrynya, after a heroic knight from Russian folklore.

He will be trained as a police dog.
