Tip-off leads to seriously injured Kiwi in Sydney

A Kiwi is thought to have died after being found critically injured in Sydney's southwest, in which police were given an anonymous tip-off from a public phone box.

Though the man's identity hasn't been confirmed, there are reports he is from New Zealand.

The man, thought to be in his 20s, was found critically injured and unconscious early this morning in Price Lane, Riverwood.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene around 12:50am (local time).

He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to St George Hospital, but later died from his wounds, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

It is understood the man is a painter and has a three-year-old child.
