Authorities looking into an "active shooter" situation at a medical centre in California are yet to find anything to back up the report.
At around 5am (NZT), the Naval Medical Center published a post on Facebook, advising the shooter was reported to be inside the centre's building number 26.
"All occupants are advised to run, hide or fight," the post reads. "All non-emergency response personnel are asked to stay away from the compound."
Navy Captain Curt Jones told CNN authorities had found "absolutely nothing", but were still investigating.
