'Work-shy' William's royal holiday photos

Photos of Prince William and his family on holiday in the French Alps haven't been warmly received by some British media outlets.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released six photos showing them on their first family holiday since Princess Charlotte was born last year. But that's stirred up controversy, because traditionally the royals would take a press pack to document their holiday.

Instead, William and Kate released the photos after they returned home.

"People here are furious," Newshub Europe Correspondent Tova O'Brien told the Paul Henry programme. "It doesn't help that William has recently been getting a lot of flack for being a bit work-shy, not perhaps going to all of his royal engagements... so this probably doesn't help with that perception."

The family of four arrived in the French Alps on Wednesday for Prince George and Princess Charlotte's first snow experience -- and Kensington Palace says it was a special, fun and short family holiday.
