6.5-magnitude quake strikes Vanuatu

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck off the coast of the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu.

The epicentre of the quake was 135km northwest of the town of Santo and was registered at a depth of 10km, the US Geological Survey said.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said there was no threat of a tsunami.
