British Prime Minister David Cameron has welcomed statements from Prime Minister John Key which support Britain remaining in the European Union (EU).
Britain is holding a referendum on whether to leave the EU on June 23, and Mr Cameron is a strong advocate for remaining.
He tweeted yesterday saying Mr Key had affirmed his support for Britain remaining in the EU.
He also quoted Mr Key saying if New Zealand had the equivalent of the EU on its doorstep, the country would want to join.
The two leaders met in the United States yesterday for "wide-ranging" discussions. Both are there to attend the Nuclear Security Summit.
Mr Key has also met with a number of US politicians during his visit, in an effort to promote the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement.
