Video: Rogue escalator startles hockey fans

An escalator that went into overdrive while carrying supporters out of an ice hockey game has amazingly not resulted in any broken necks -- despite travelling at breakneck speed.

Philadelphia Flyers fans were exiting the Wells Fargo Center yesterday after their side's 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators, when the escalator inexplicably sped up, resulting in a build-up of bodies at the bottom.

A Comcast Spectator spokesman told nbcphiladelphia.com the escalator had malfunctioned, and the venue is working with the operator to investigate the incident before the next game.
