A biplane pilot is dead after crashing during the metro Atlanta airshow at DeKalb Peachtree Airport, about 11 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
He was performing a tandem stunt with another plane during an aerial acrobatics show on Saturday afternoon, said DeKalb County public information officer Sheira Campbell.
It was the first accident in 30 years of the PDK Good Neighbor Day Airshow, reported DeKalb County spokesman Burke Brennan in an emailed statement.
Campbell said the pilot will not be identified until his next of kin are notified, adding that there were no other injuries on the ground and there was no other damage other than the aircraft.
