The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) says there has been no indication that New Zealanders were harmed in the Nice attacks that killed 84 and injured many more on Friday (NZT).

The ministry says the New Zealand Embassy in Paris has been notified by French authorities that there are no Kiwis known to be involved in the attack. They say all enquiries lodged with them have now been accounted for.

MFAT advises that anyone with concerns about a Kiwi family member in Nice should try and make direct contact before contacting the ministry.

There are 925 New Zealanders registered with MFAT as being in France.
