A Sumatran Orangutan at Australia's Adelaide Zoo has composed a special jazz music piece using a music-making app, according to a zookeeper.

Primate Keeper at Adelaide Zoo, Pij Olijnyk , says Kluet the orangutan's tune is called 'Give Me A Clue' and has been released to coincide with World Orangutan Day.

Olijnyk says Kluet had learnt how to play keyboard on an iPhone, so he decided to let him try the Garageband app.

"[I] let him rip on the piano, and he just came up with some amazing skills," said Olijnyk.

"We tracked some drums as well that he's played also on the keyboard... he's come up with a pretty special little jazz tune."

The zoo has released the song to raise money to support their three Sumatran orangutans, Olijnyk says.
