Australian Kmart first to lock-up chocolate

Cadbury (file)

Following a spate of thefts by sweet-toothed burglars, a Kmart store in Melbourne has locked up its most valuable property: chocolate.

Customers have been spotted opening blocks of chocolate and eating them while wandering around the store. Oddly, only blocks of Cadbury chocolate have so far been targeted.

Customers must now present the blocks of chocolate, locked in DVD-styled security cases, to a cashier before purchase.

It appears the Australian store is the first to require security for its confectionary.
