A beer truck carrying 300 cases of Budweiser has crashed on a New York highway, spilling thousands of bottles on to the road.

The crash left a two-kilometre-long traffic jam in Monday morning rush hour traffic on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Beer could be seen flowing through the streets.

The clean-up was further complicated by a fuel spill from the truck.

The trailer had to be suspended between two tow trucks and flipped upside down - emptying it so it could be removed.
