Over 20,000 people fought with tomatoes in the small village of Bunol, Spain on Wednesday (local time), as part of the annual "Tomatina" tomato fight.
160 tons of ripe tomatoes were unloaded for the hours-long food fight at the fiesta.
The fight left the town's streets covered in squashed tomatoes - and the participants fared no better.
Organisers then hosed the streets down after the event, while participants cleaned themselves in the public showers or the village river.
The event was inspired by a 1945 food fight between local children in the tomato-producing region.
