Slavery has been called America's 'original sin' and a prominent Catholic university in Washington D.C. is owning up to that sin, announcing how it plans to atone.

Georgetown University will give preference in admissions to the descendants of slaves owned by the Maryland Jesuits as reconciliatory efforts after profiting from the sale of enslaved people.
