A 13-year-old boy has been shot and killed in the US after police responded to reports of an armed robbery.
Ohio police say the boy, later named as Tyree King, had pulled a gun from his waistband, which turned out to be a BB gun.
Officers had been responding to a report of an armed robbery on Wednesday night (local time) when they came across three males matching the suspects' descriptions.
When two of the males fled on foot, police chased them down an alley.
It's alleged Tyree then pulled a gun from his waistband and was shot, "multiple times", police said in a statement.
Tyree was taken to a children's hospital, where he died.
The other suspect with Tyree was interviewed and released pending further investigation, and police are now hunting additional suspects.
No one else was injured and police say an investigation into the shooting has been launched.
