Auction house Sotheby's is selling off a stunning blue diamond - for a sky-high price.
The 8.01 carat 'Sky Blue Diamond' is expected to be sold for US$15 and US$25 million, when it goes up for auction in Geneva on November 16.
This diamond is no ordinary gem. It has been categorised as a Fancy Vivid Blue diamond by the Gemological Institute of America, as well as being labelled a Type IIb. In other words, it's extremely rare and valuable.
And this isn't the only pricy blue diamond Sotheby's has sold recently.
In 2015 they sold 'The Blue Moon' - a 12.03 carat rock - for US$48.5 million.
