At least 20 people have been killed and dozens more injured after two commuter trains collided in the Pakistani city of Karachi.

The accident happened during morning rush hour when one train smashed into the back of another.

Two children are thought to be among the dead.  Five of the injured are in critical condition.

As many as 1000 people could have been on board the trains at the time said Nasir Nazeer, district coordination officer.

Pakistan has one of the world's worst rail infrastructures, and often has fatal accidents.
