Dad's hilarious vent over college kid's return

It hadn't even been a week since Dan Howard's daughter arrived home from college but he'd already reached wit's end.

After tripping over his daughter Shannon's suitcase, left in the lounge, the United States man quietly went to his room and vented in a video that's since gone viral.

The two-minute video shared a day-by-day account of Mr Howard's experiences.

Spoilt milk, loud singing, heavy luggage and clothes scattered around the house were among his grumbles, and he'd only reached day five.

He shared the light-hearted video to Facebook on Saturday and by the following Thursday it'd racked up more than 900,000 likes and 8,500 shares.

"In the morning the milk was left out and it was sour but such nice kids, great having them home," Mr Howard said, with more than a little sarcasm.

"We don't even go to the gym anymore - we just jump over the piles of clothes, pretend they're hurdles. Great for the quads."

It seemed many Facebook users could relate, with one calling it "scarily accurate".

"I love these visits but I have three sons and they all come home at once!" another added.

By the fifth day, Mr Howard's ability to turn negatives around seemed to have diminished.

"I've called the airlines, bus terminals, trains. There's no way to get her back to college. Do you think Uber?"
