Want to know where horror moviemakers get their ideas from? Go to the bottom of the ocean.

Roman Fedortsov, a Russian deep-sea fisherman, has been tweeting images of some of the things he catches, and they look like creatures out of the movie Alien.

Warning: The following pictures might inspire you to never go swimming at the beach again.

In the above image, Mr Fedortsov captions his horrific oceanic image with a statement in Russian, which translated says: "Everyone have a great day!"

Kiwis are not too easily scared. We're proud of our weta and tuatara. But this is something else entirely. These creatures look like the combined nightmares of Ridley Scott and Guillermo del Toro.
