Cat shreds and sleds in the snow

While cats are known for hating water, one US cat is particularly partial to the frozen kind - and the thrill-seeking that comes with it.

Photographer Jesse Smith and his wife document the outdoor adventures of their two cats on Facebook, through a page called Weston and Ellinore: Adventure Cats. The fearless felines go on frequent hikes and trips to the snow.

In a video uploaded to YouTube this week, Weston the tuxedo cat can be seen perched on the shoulders of his owner, barrelling down a huge hill at breakneck speed.

Mr Smith told The Huffington Post that Weston is "as content as could be" when he goes sledding.

"Weston usually opts for the shoulder perch and does a great job of balancing up there."
