Girl's flute playing not music to dog's ears

Dogs may be our best friends - but this poor canine may have reached breaking point over a young girl's flute practice.

A video posted to Facebook shows her dog - a retriever mix - sleeping peacefully in the background.

However its repose is broken when the girl picks up her instrument and begins to play 'Brother John'.

Dogs are known to have very sensitive hearing, and are capable of perceiving frequencies twice that of humans.

Soon the awkward flute playing becomes too much, and the dog starts howling and groaning along to the music.

Commenters on the video were sympathetic to the dog's plight.

"That dog is every parent whose child plays an instrument," one person said.
