The family of the baby killed in the Melbourne car attack have released images of their "most beautiful" three-month-old boy.

Zachary Bryant was the "most beautiful, loving, happy and perfect little baby," parents Matthew and Nawwar Bryant said in a statement, released via Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital.

"On 20th January a man drove through Melbourne city killing and hurting people including our two-year-old toddler Sara and our three-month-old son, Zachary," they said.

"Our beautiful Sara is in a stable condition, however Zachary, our son, did not survive," the parents said.

"He was the light of our lives constantly filling our days with smiles and laughs.

"He leaves us with the best three months and 14 days of wonderful memories spent in this world.

"Sara, Mummy and Daddy love you very much, and always will."

The driver, Dimitrious Gargasoulas, has been charged with murder for the deaths of the five people killed when he drove a car into crowds in Melbourne on January 20.

He's accused of killing Zachary, Thalia Hakin, 10, Jess Mudie, 22, Matthew Si, 33, and a 25-year-old man who hasn't been identified.

Twenty others were also injured when Gargasoulas ploughed his vehicle into the crowd on Bourke St.

He was shot by police and arrested near the corner or Bourke and William streets. He was seen on the ground, handcuffed, shirtless and wearing a pair of red underwear.
