Senior Russian officials celebrated Donald Trump's election victory, the Washington Post has reported.
The newspaper cited US officials who said intercepted communications showed the Russians congratulating themselves on the outcome, seeing it as a geopolitical win for Moscow.
The ebullient reaction among high-ranking Russian officials included some who US officials believe had knowledge of the country's cyber campaign to interfere in the US election.
The Russian communication contributed to the US intelligence community's assessment that Moscow's efforts were aimed at least in part at helping Mr Trump win the White House, the Post reported.
